Ready to integrate BoldSign with Postman? Follow these simple steps to test and deploy BoldSign’s eSignature APIs effortlessly in your apps.
The first step in integrating with BoldSign’s API is to obtain an API key. Follow these steps to generate your API key:
Create a free BoldSign Sandbox account - Sign Up - BoldSign
Once the account is set up, access the “API” menu item within the BoldSign interface and click the “API Key” option.
On the “API Key” page, click the "Generate API Key" button.
You'll be prompted with the “Generate API Key” dialog upon clicking. Proceed by clicking the “Generate Token” button and providing a name for the API key.
Copy the generated API key, as it will be required to configure HTTP request headers in Postman.
Start by adding the BoldSign API collection to your Postman workspace. You can import the collection directly from this link.
Once the collection is imported, navigate to the “Authorization” tab and select the “Type” as “API Key”.
Provide the value "X-API-KEY" for the “Key” textbox. Obtain the API Key value by generating an API Key, as mentioned earlier, and paste the API key in the “Value” textbox. Then, click the “Save” button.
With the setup complete, you can send requests to BoldSign's API. Ensure the authorization type is set to "Inherit auth from parent" under the Authorization tab for seamless integration.
Now, let’s explore an example of sending a document for signers to sign.
Navigate to the “Document” folder and select the “Document Send” API. Provide the necessary "form-data" values based on your requirements and proceed to request the API by clicking the “Send” button.
After making the API request, a document ID will be generated, as shown in the above image, and the document will be sent to signers via email for signature.
Beyond basic document sending, BoldSign offers a range of advanced features and customizations to enhance your eSignature workflows:
In conclusion, there are numerous advantages to incorporating eSignature workflows into your applications using BoldSign, from increased efficiency to better security and compliance. BoldSign is making it possible for developers worldwide to quickly investigate, test, and incorporate an eSignature solution into their applications in a matter of days by utilizing Postman.
